Cloudflare opened cloudflare.pay on 4 August 2026. One name, one owner, permanently — and it is a wallet, not a username.
HandleX is an independent marketplace for cloudflare.pay handles. Browse what is listed, make an offer, and agree terms directly with the person holding the handle. No payment passes through this site, and we do not register or control a single handle.
Money moves to the name. An Account Wallet belongs to a person; Virtual Wallets are issued to agents on API keys, capped by their owner with an allowance, an approved merchant list and a maximum transaction size.
A handle is unique to the network that issued it. There is exactly one @luna on Cloudflare Pay, and there will never be a second.
WhatsApp opened username reservations on 29 June 2026. Two days later the lookalike handles of public figures were already taken, and Binance founder Changpeng Zhao reported he could not reserve his own.
As of 7 August 2026 Cloudflare has published nothing that prohibits selling a handle, and nothing that provides a way to transfer one.
Cloudflare announced Cloudflare Wallets and cloudflare.pay on 4 August 2026. cloudflare.pay is where you claim a handle; a handle sits under it as a subdomain, and Cloudflare’s own example is research.example.cloudflare.pay. The handle is linked to a Cloudflare account — Cloudflare describes the identity as "a delegate of the account".
Only partly. Claiming a handle is live now. Adding funds and paying with the wallet are not — Cloudflare describes full wallet access as available in the coming months. Anyone telling you they are buying a working payment account today has been misled.
At cloudflare.pay, with a Cloudflare account. Claiming is not done through HandleX and we cannot do it for you — we are an independent marketplace and do not register, issue or control a single handle.
On HandleX. People list cloudflare.pay handles they have claimed, you make an offer, and you agree terms with the holder directly — we are an independent marketplace and take no custody of a handle and no payment. Read the answer below before you do: Cloudflare has published no transfer mechanism, so a sale today is arranged between two people at the account level with nothing at the platform level to enforce it.
Length first, then whether the string is a word somebody already knows. Three-letter handles are the scarcest shape — there are only 46,656 of them across the whole alphabet-and-digits space — and dictionary words, first names and brand terms carry demand a random string never has. What handles and domains have actually sold for, with dates and sources, is set out on our handle value page.
As of 7 August 2026, Cloudflare has published nothing that prohibits selling a wallet handle — and nothing that provides a way to transfer one. Neither the launch blog post nor the press release addresses transfer, resale or ownership. Both halves of that are true and they belong together: a sale today is arranged between two people at the account level, with nothing at the platform level to enforce it.
Cloudflare describes Account Wallets as designed for humans who are owners and users of Cloudflare accounts — they add funds, delegate spend and remove funds. Virtual Wallets are designed for agents and operate via API keys, capped by the Account Wallet owner with an allowance, an allow list and a maximum transaction size.
Payments ride on x402, an open protocol Coinbase released in May 2025 that attaches a stablecoin payment to an ordinary web request. Coinbase reported 69,000 active agents, 165 million transactions and around $50 million of cumulative volume on x402 by late April 2026 — figures from the protocol’s author, not independently audited. Every one of those agents needs an address a merchant can recognise.
No. HandleX is an independent marketplace operated by Omucloud. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Cloudflare, and we do not issue, register or control any handle.
